'Too close to call'- Fylde MP Andrew Snowden issues update on shop of the year competition
“Independent businesses are the backbone of our local economy, and this competition is a great opportunity to recognise the businesses that go the extra mile for their customers and communities.”
Andrew Snowden has issued an update on his ‘shop of the year’ competition which is running across Fylde this summer.
The initiative was initially launched in July and aims to highlight some of the independent businesses, cafes and shops that make a difference across Fylde.
Voting closes on 31 August, and Snowden has announced that the competition is still ‘too close to call’. He said: "The response has been fantastic. More than 4,000 votes have already been cast, showing just how much people value our local shops and high streets.

"I'm incredibly grateful to Margaret Race for donating this magnificent historic trophy. It has a wonderful history of recognising local businesses, and I'm delighted it will once again be awarded to one of Fylde's very best shops.
