Lancashire Police close A588 Shard Road in both directions in Poulton-le-Fylde following crash involving ‘motorbike and car’

A crash shut a major Fylde road between Poulton and Hambleton.

Shard Road (A588) was closed in both directions between Mains Lane and Bull Park Lane at approximately 3.05pm on Saturday (June 25).

The collision involved a motorbike and a car, according to eyewitness reports.

A large number of emergency service vehicles attended, including police, ambulance crews and fire engines.

It was expected the road would be closed for a number of hours.

Traffic maps of the area showed traffic was coping well following the closure.

Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.

This was the second crash to be reported on the road this week, with a third crash also reported on Thursday (June 16).
