Tragedy at Carr Head Primary School in Poulton as member of staff dies during inset day
"We are very sad to confirm that a much loved member of staff passed away suddenly on 1 September.”
A Fylde coast primary school has announced the tragic and sudden death of a staff member during an inset day yesterday.
Reports of an incident at Carr Head Primary School first emerged when numerous police cars and ambulances were spotted outside the school on Tuesday. Tragically, the school has now confirmed the death of a male member of staff following the on-site incident.
Headteacher Sharon Nicholson said: "We are very sad to confirm that a much loved member of staff passed away suddenly on 1 September. He was a highly valued member of our school family, and worked tirelessly to care for our school, our staff and our children, and his dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment to our school community will be profoundly missed.

“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family and his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We will now be supporting children, staff and the wider school community over the coming days as they come to terms with his loss."
Lancashire Police had initially confirmed to the Gazette that a member of staff suffered a ‘medical episode’ at the scene, and have now been approached for further comment.
North West Ambulance Service has also been contacted by the Gazette for comment.
