This is when advance tickets are going on sale for Lytham's festive ice rink

“The ice rink will be a great visitor draw to Lytham for local families as well as for people from farther afield”

Tickets will go on sale on Friday for sessions on Lytham’s Christmas Ice Rink.

The Lytham Business Partnership, which has organised the rink for Clifton Square through the festive season, says a link will be issued for online advance sales, but walk-ups will still be possible once the rink is up and running.

Tickets are to be sold for the period running from November 28 to January, although it is hoped the rink will be in place from the previous weekend.

The rink is expected to operate between 11am to 9pm at weekend and noon to 9pm during the week. Family tickets will be available and wheelchairs will be allowed on the ice.

It will be the first time in 10 years that the town has hosted a rink and Suzanne Taylor, who chairs the Lytham Business Partnership said: “The ice rink will be a great visitor draw to Lytham for local families as well as for people from farther afield.

“The uplift in footfall for the town will provide a significant lifeline for challenged local businesses.”

The aim is to start work on setting up the rink the day after the town’s Christmas lights switch-on, which is on November 14.
