'Family festive underwater adventure' - SEA LIFE Blackpool announces Christmas grotto dates for 2026
The attraction says spaces are limited and is encouraging families to book their festive visits online in advance.
Families will be able to enjoy a festive underwater adventure this Christmas as Santa returns to SEA LIFE Blackpool as part of a series of seasonal events taking place at aquariums across the UK.
The popular attraction will welcome Santa to his magical grotto on selected dates in December, giving children the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes and receive a special festive gift.
The experience will also be available at SEA LIFE Birmingham, Great Yarmouth, Loch Lomond and Weymouth, with grotto events beginning in late November. Visitors can explore thousands of marine creatures, including sharks, rays, tropical fish and sea turtles, before heading into Santa’s enchanting winter wonderland.
Children will be able to meet Santa and his cheerful elves, share their Christmas wishes and take home a special gift. At SEA LIFE Blackpool, Santa's Grotto will be open on December 5 and 6, 12 and 13, and daily from December 19 to 24.
The experience will run from 10.15am until 3pm, with shorter opening hours of 10.15am to 1pm on Christmas Eve. As part of the festive visit, families can also enjoy access to the aquarium and take part in The Sea Star Search with the Elf on the Shelf, a limited-time Christmas activity trail.
The attraction says spaces are limited and is encouraging families to book their festive visits online in advance. Further information and booking details are available through the SEA LIFE website.
