Pub chain Stonegate Group issues update on future of Slug and Lettuce in Blackpool
“The site is no longer commercially viable and we have taken the difficult decision to close”
Pub chain Stonegate Group has confirmed the closure of Blackpool’s Slug and Lettuce in Queen Street.
In a statement, they said: “The hospitality sector continues to face significant challenges.

“After careful consideration, and despite our best efforts, the site is no longer commercially viable and we have taken the difficult decision to close Slug & Lettuce, Blackpool.
“We would like to thank our hard-working team for their commitment and dedication.
“We would also like to thank our guests and the local community for their support over the years.”
Earlier this month we revealed ambitious plans to create 18 new serviced accommodation flats above an entire block of retail units and bars - which include the Slug and Lettuce.
It was understood that that the Slug and Lettuce and existing ground floor business would not be affected by the developments upstairs.
