Major update on prominent Blackpool pub Slug and Lettuce in Queen Street as it permanently closes
The pub is owned by the Stonegate Group
The Slug and Lettuce pub on Queen Street has closed.
The pub, owned by Stonegate Group is no longer listed on its website and its Google search says it is ‘permanently closed’.
There is no signage on the building’s facade and inside the chairs can be seen lifted up on tables. Stonegate, which is the largest pub chain in the UK, has been approached for a comment.

Earlier this month we revealed ambitious plans to create 18 new serviced accommodation flats above an entire block of retail units and bars - which include the Slug and Lettuce.
It was understood that that the Slug and Lettuce and existing ground floor business would not be affected by the developments upstairs.

The building opened as a Slug and Lettuce in March 2019 following a £400,000 by the Stonegate pub group, which included a VIP cocktail masterclass area.
Last year, the building was sold to Maurice Investments (Blackpool) Ltd.
The planning application submitted to Blackpool Council was for the erection of a dormer to the rear, replacement windows, installation of new entrance at ground floor and associated works and use of premises as altered as 18 serviced holiday apartments at 8 – 20 Queen Street.
