Peppa Pig and family are on the way to Blackpool Grand Theatre - everything you need to know

It’s pigtastic! Peppa Pig is bringing her biggest family adventure yet to Blackpool Grand Theatre

The global children’s phenomenon Peppa Pig is coming to Blackpool with a brand-new stage show - and a very special new addition to the family.

Peppa Pig has become part of childhood for millions of families, conquered television screens around the world and delighted more than 2.5 million UK theatregoers. Now Peppa Pig is heading back to Blackpool with a brand-new live adventure - and this time, the Pig family is getting bigger.

Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show comes to Blackpool Grand Theatre on Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2, bringing Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig together on stage for an energetic family production packed with music, laughter, surprises and, naturally, plenty of muddy puddles.

For more than 20 years, Peppa Pig has been one of the most instantly recognisable and best-loved characters in children’s entertainment. The award-winning British animated series has now run for ten seasons and reached young audiences in more than 180 territories, growing from a television favourite into a worldwide phenomenon encompassing books, toys, cinema, theme parks and hugely popular live shows.

At the heart of that success is something wonderfully simple: children see their own lives in Peppa’s world. First friendships, family mishaps, new experiences and everyday adventures are explored with warmth, mischief and humour, while grown-ups often find themselves laughing along for entirely different reasons.

In Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show, there is particularly exciting news - the family is preparing to welcome baby Evie. Before she arrives, however, there is an enormous amount of work to be done.

The house needs building, decorating and transforming, and Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig will need plenty of help from the audience if everything is going to be ready in time.

The production marks baby Evie’s first appearance in a Peppa Pig live stage show and invites young audience members right into the middle of the action. Rather than simply watching a familiar story unfold, children can join in, respond to the characters and help the Pig family complete its oinktastic makeover before the new arrival makes her entrance.

Produced by leading children’s theatre company Fierylight in collaboration with Hasbro, the show continues a remarkable live-theatre success story. Peppa and her friends have entertained audiences for more than 15 years across seven major tours, introducing generations of young children to the excitement of seeing their favourite characters come to life on stage.

Back Blackpool’s bid to become the City of Culture 2029

Earning the title of City of Culture 2029 would shine a national spotlight on the talent, imagination, and resilience that already define our community. It would celebrate the people who make this place extraordinary and give every resident a reason to feel proud of our bold, vibrant, and culturally dynamic town.

Andrew Howard, Head of Audiences, Marketing and Sales at Blackpool Grand Theatre, said: “Peppa Pig is a genuine phenomenon, but what makes her so special is the place she holds in family life. For so many young children, Peppa is one of their first favourite characters - someone they know, trust and are always excited to see. Watching their faces as she steps onto the stage at The Grand is going to be incredibly special.

“This may also be a child’s very first experience of live theatre, and we never underestimate the importance of that moment. There is something magical about entering our beautiful auditorium, seeing the lights go down and discovering that the characters you know from the television are suddenly right there in front of you. It can begin a lifelong love of theatre - and what a joyful way to start.

“Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show has everything families could want: familiar faces, music, audience participation, plenty of laughter and the arrival of baby Evie. We cannot wait to welcome Peppa, George and the whole family back to Blackpool.”

Director and co-adaptor Richard Lewis, who has directed every previous Peppa Pig Live production, returns for the new tour. The show combines storytelling, colourful staging, familiar characters and songs in a lively 75-minute production created especially with preschool children and their families in mind.

Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show is at Blackpool Grand Theatre in Church Street on September 1 and 2. Tickets start from £21, with £2 off for under-16s. A Family of Four ticket is available for £85 in Band A and must include at least one child under 16.

Tickets are available from blackpoolgrand.co.uk, or by calling the Blackpool Grand Theatre Box Office on 01253 290190.
