'I've loved every minute' - Owners of popular Lee and Chris' Belvedere Hotel, Blackpool announce plans to sell

“I’ve poured everything it it and I’ve loved every minute.”

The owners of a popular Blackpool Hotel have announced they are planning to sell-up in the near future.

Lee & Chris' Belverdere Hotel, located on Dickson Road, has long been a popular place for LGBT people to stay on trips to the resort. Now owners Lee and Chris Taylor-Hone have said the time has come to move on.

In a statement, Lee said: “Owning and running the Belvedere has been the greatest joy of my working life and a dream come true. For five years and seven months, this place has been my pride and joy, my routine, my comfort and my home.

“I’ve poured everything it it and I’ve loved every minute with the help of my hubby Chris. But with the pressure of our other businesses growing and with me being needed elsewhere more often, we’ve made the difficult decision to put the Belvedere on the market.”

He said the hotel would still be taking bookings. “Realistically, we’ll still be here for some time as B&Bs in Blackpool don’t sell overnight,” said Lee. He added that if the hotel didn’t sell, it would only open for special weekend events, offering a room only service and the Renaissance bar will shut for good at the end of the year.

In a final message to patrons, he said: “Thanks to everyone who has supported us, stayed with us, drank with us and believed in what we built.

“You’ve made this journey unforgettable.”
