Man, 39, found unresponsive at Blackpool home had butane toxicity in system as inquest date set

Evidence to be heard at inquest from representatives of Trust responsible for mental health care

A date has been set for an inquest into the death of a 39-year-old man found unresponsive in his home in Blackpool.

Dale Greener had evidence of butane toxicity in his system, a post mortem found.

He had a history of mental health problems, a pre-inquest review at Blackpool Town Hall heard, and was under the care of the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, which is responsible for mental health services on the Fylde coast.

Isabelle Passmore, representing the Trust at the review hearing, said a review of Mr Greener’s care was being prepared and should be ready next month.

Blackpool and Fylde assistant coroner Louise Rae said that, as well as the author of that review, she would hear evidence at the inquest from representatives of the home-based treatment team and the community care team.

Ms Rae set the date for the inquest as Tuesday, November 17.
