Lucky Lancashire man scoops whopping £50K jackpot at Mecca Bingo - and then wins again
A bingo player from Lancashire couldn’t believe his luck when he won a whopping £50,000 at Mecca Bingo in Blackpool last week.
As luck would have it twice - news of his jackpot win had barely sunk in when he scooped another prize on the same evening!
The mystery man was playing on one of the club’s electronic tablets when he won the National Bingo Game jackpot onTuesday, January 20.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is known to be a regular visitor to the venue on Talbot Road and was with his partner at the time of the win.
The fabulous £50k jackpot is triggered when a player matches all the numbers on their ticket and claims a ‘full house’ within the first 16 numbers being called.
Danielle Cherry was the duty manager for the session at Mecca Bingo Blackpool.
She said: “The winner thought that he had won the smaller club prize and when we announced that he'd actually won the £50,000 National Bingo Game jackpot he was completely shocked!
“In fact, he was so stunned that he carried on playing – and then won another cash prize for claiming a line during the very same session!”
Danielle, who has worked at the club for six years, then helped the winner complete the necessary paperwork.
She added: “Everyone was so happy for him. It’s an amazing feeling giving away a prize of that size.
“It’s the first time that I’ve been in the club when the National Bingo Game jackpot has been won - and even I felt quite jittery!”
The National Bingo Game is played across Britain and offers players the chance to win jackpot prizes of up to £50,000, as well as a club prize on every game.
It is played twice a day, every day at all Mecca clubs.
