Hambleton man 'loses everything' after explosion destroys home on Carr Lane
A fundraiser has been launched to support a man who lost all his belongings after a house was destroyed in an explosion in Hambleton.
Emergency services were called to Carr Lane shortly before 10am on Friday, March 27, following reports of an explosion at a domestic property.
The blast destroyed the home, while nearby properties were also evacuated as crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, police and ambulance services responded.

A GoFundMe page has now been set up by colleague Sam Bramall to help Craig Davies, who lived at the property.
In a post on the fundraising page, Sam said Craig was at work when he received a phone call telling him his home had been destroyed.
He wrote: “In a matter of minutes, Craig lost everything he owned.
“All of his personal belongings, pets, memories, and the precious items left to him by his parents were taken by the fire.”
The fundraiser states Craig is now facing the challenge of rebuilding his life, with no home, clothing or everyday essentials.
Donations will go towards emergency clothing, temporary accommodation and helping him secure a new place to live, as well as replacing basic household items.
Sam added: “The road ahead will be difficult, but with community support, he won’t have to face it alone.”
At the time of writing, more than £1,300 has been raised through the appeal, with around 80 donations bringing it close to its £1,600 target.
An update on the page thanked the local community for its support, describing donors as “generous people” and confirming plans to visit Craig in the coming days.
In a separate development, Lancashire Police have confirmed that a 54-year-old man has been charged as part of the investigation.
Darren Davies, of Carr Lane, appeared at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 30, charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Preston Crown Court on April 27.
