Fleetwood's ex-boxing champ Jane Couch to stage big sleepout event for good causes
“Everybody welcome just bring a chair”
The annual big beach sleepout is happening again this year to raise money for good cause in Fleetwood.
People will gather on Saturday August 15 for the community event at Fleetwood Beach, in front of the chalets - and they will be there all night from 5pm to 6am.

Fleetwood’s Jane Couch MBE is organising the event.
She said: “Everybody welcome just bring a chair.
“And anyone wanting to sponsor us please get in touch, it’s all for good causes in Fleetwood.”

The first big beach sleepout was a huge success with an aim to raise awareness of social isolation and mental health issues, while raising a few pounds for some worthwhile causes in the town. It was organised when the women’s group Chill Lounge - for women of all ages to support one another - was first launched.
And since then, the annual event has grown into something more
Jane, ex boxer and five times world champion, set up the Chill Lounge as a female version of Men's Shed to help local women combat isolation and mental health issues like depression.
The girls meet up regularly in Fleetwood for social events and stage local fundraisers for good causes.
