Blackpool murder suspect remains in custody after woman fatally stabbed in Grange Park
A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Blackpool remains in custody.
The 62-year-old was detained after police were called to reports of a stabbing at a home in Dinmore Avenue at around 9.30pm last night (Monday, March 29).
A woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene once emergency services arrived.
The man remains in custody for questioning this afternoon (March 30).
A post-mortem examination to establish the woman's cause of death is due to take place in due course.
Detectives are now urging anyone with information to come forward.
Det Chief Insp Zoe Russo, of Blackpool Police, said: "These are very sad and tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the victim’s family at this time.
!While we have made an arrest we would continue to appeal to anyone with information or who feels they can assist with our enquiries to come forward.
"We recognise this will have caused some concern in the community but please be reassured incidents of this nature are rare and we have a dedicated team of detectives working on the inquiry."
