Man arrested in Blackpool after hit and run leaves teenager in serious condition at Alder Hey
A man has been arrested in Blackpool following a hit and run that has left a 13-year-old girl in hospital with serious injuries.
Stuart Magee, 33, of Hayes Avenue in Prescot, Knowsley, Merseyside, was arrested in Blackpool at around 5.15pm on Saturday (March 27).
It follows a hit and run in Widnes earlier that day, where a teenage pedestrian was knocked down shortly before 1pm.
The girl sustained serious injuries and was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.
Magee has since been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision.
He appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 29) where he was remanded in custody.
He is set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, April 26.
A 32-year-old woman from Prescot has also been arrested in connection with the collision.
She was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, but has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
