Blackpool man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman dies in Grange Park stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a home in the Grange Park area of Blackpool last night (Monday, March 29).

The 62-year-old was arrested after police were called to reports of a stabbing at a home in Dinmore Avenue at around 9.30pm.

Ambulance crews had attended and a woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was arrested and taken into custody, where he remains this morning.

Lancashire Police say a murder investigation is now under way.

Dinmore Avenue was closed until shortly after midnight whilst the force responded to the incident.

Police remain at the scene this morning and the home has been taped off whilst officers continue their investigation.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called by the ambulance service at about 9.30pm on Monday, March 29 to a report of a stabbing at an address on Dinmore Avenue in Blackpool.

"Officers attended and sadly the body of a woman in her 40s was found dead inside the address.

"A man aged 62 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

"An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing."
