Fleetwood Health and Fitness Centre has issued a series of updates on its ongoing major refurbishment plan as work continues to upgrade the gym and other facilities at the site.

Wyre Council has made progress on its borough-wide leisure centre refurbishments, with works now completed at gyms in Garstang, Poulton and Thornton.

Work has been ongoing inside Fleetwood Health and Fitness Centre since early September. All equipment inside the gym is set to be replaced, with new cardio and resistance machines, exercise bikes, and free weights on the way. Plans for the sports hall to be refreshed are also set to go ahead, along with changes to the onsite reception.

The old changing rooms have now been completely demolished ahead of construction starting on a new, 42-cubicle unit complete with updated toilet and locker facilities.

A spokesperson for the fitness centre updated the public on their progress: “The old changing rooms are officially gone, and the real transformation begins now. Here is where we are at: Floors: Fully prepped and levelled for the upcoming tiles. Walls: Being primed right now for the brand-new wall panels.
