'If you are involved in this behaviour, STOP - Fleetwood Police warning after firework incidents escalate
“Please think carefully before someone gets hurt.”
Police are warning youths about the serious dangers of fireworks after a spate of incidents over the weekend.
Reports of young people setting off fireworks in the Memorial Park caused misery for residents and pets who heard loud bangs as kids fired fireworks irresponsibly.

And they had a firm message - ‘if you are involved in this behaviour, stop.
A spokesperson from the force said: “Please think carefully before someone gets hurt.
“What may seem like harmless fun could result in life-changing injuries for yourself or others, as well as police action.
“We ask parents and guardians to speak with their children about the dangers of fireworks and the consequences of using them irresponsibly.
“While fireworks can be enjoyable when used safely, using them irresponsibly can have serious consequences. Fireworks can cause severe burns, eye injuries, hearing damage, and fires. They also pose a significant risk to other park users, nearby residents, and property.”

Police also issued a reminder that misuse of fireworks may constitute criminal offences, including anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, public order offences, and assault where others are placed at risk or injured.
If you witness anti-social behaviour involving fireworks, report it to us via 101 or online. In an emergency, always call 999.
