Appeal to find owner of phone Paddy McGuinness used to take legendary Illuminations selfie
A search for the iconic photo is now underway.
An appeal has been launched to find the owner of the phone used by Paddy McGuinness to take a legendary Illuminations switch-on selfie.
The incredible selfie was taken at last Friday’s switch-on event after Paddy ran onto stage to greet fans, take pictures and turn the lights on for 2026.
Paddy’s switch-on was well recieved by the Blackpool crowd. Just moments after leaving the stage Paddy told the Gazette: “What a crowd. Amazing. Look at all that (the lights) now, it’s all going. Everyone were buzzing, and it’s fantastic for the local community.
Anyone who knows the owner of the phone should contact the Gazette at [email protected]
