Blackpool South MP Chris Webb has helped mark the opening of a new independent restaurant in Claremont, describing it as a welcome boost for the area’s growing hospitality sector.

The MP attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Spice Coast Indian Restaurant on Edgerton Road, which has recently opened its doors under the ownership of Abin and his family.
The new venue is offering a range of authentic Indian dishes in a contemporary dining setting, adding to the diversity of Blackpool’s food scene.
Speaking at the opening, Mr Webb said it was encouraging to see independent businesses choosing to invest locally and bring new life to neighbourhood high streets.
He praised the commitment shown by the owners in establishing the restaurant and contributing to the local economy.
He also highlighted the wider importance of supporting hospitality businesses, drawing on his role as Chair of the APPG for Hospitality and Tourism.
He said that independent operators play a vital role in creating jobs, attracting visitors, and strengthening the town’s reputation as a destination for food and leisure.
Spice Coast joins a growing number of restaurants and eateries contributing to Blackpool’s expanding hospitality offer, with increasing emphasis on independent and family-run businesses.
