A warm-up event for the new Blackpool Music Run will feature one of the top tribute artists to Elton John.

Ultimate Elton John – who even played the Watford star’s mum’s birthday party when her own son wasn’t available – will headline the concert at the Comedy Carpet.

The free event on Sunday, June 24, is a taster of what music lovers and keep fit fanatics can expect from the Music Run itself which takes place on Sunday, September 23.

Also part of the warm-up gig will be a world record attempt – with details of that to be confirmed – family entertainment, give-aways and more.

Places are still open for the Music Run, which will see more than 20 live acts take to nine stages along the 10km route from the Metropole to Squires Gate and back.

Among the acts playing for the charity fun run, which is supporting Streetlife, Blackpool’s youth homelessness charity, are The Hoosiers who will headline the Finishers Festival and boyband Union J, as well as local acts.
