Lytham St Annes carer Helen Jayne Wear in final of Homecare’s Got Talent 2025

Lytham St Annes' carer Helen Jayne Wear is in the final of Homecare’s Got Talent - a national competition showcasing the amazing performance skills of UK carers.
The 63-year-old, who works with Visiting Angels, delivered a powerful performance of This Is My Life in the semi-finals.
Now she will perform in the Grand Finale of Homecare’s Got Talent at Birmingham’s Crescent Theatre, on August 14. For tickets, from just £6.50, plus full details - CLICK HERE.
And it really will be a case of Making Your Mind Up - the panel of celebrity judges includes Bucks Fizz legends Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston, now of the THE FIZZ, along with Saffron, from Republica, EastEnders star John Partridge, The Voice UK’s Kuill, Married at First Sight’s Matt Jameson, ITV News presenter Sameena Ali-Khan and BBC Radio’s Becky Measures.
The winner will receive £1,000 in cash, an all-inclusive holiday for two, and the chance to perform with pop group THE FIZZ live on stage at Carefest 2025, a family-friendly festival honouring paid and unpaid carers with live music, games, street food, kids’ activities and more in Sheffield on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, 2pm to 8pm - entry is free but to get online registration CLICK HERE.
Homecare’s Got Talent, now in its second year, is supported by major home care providers and all proceeds from the finale will go to the Care Workers’ Charity.

For Helen, who had never entered anything like this before, the opportunity has already been life-changing.
With a career in performance spanning over 40 years, this competition marks her return to the stage after life took an unexpected turn.
“Since the pandemic, my life has changed in many ways,” said Helen.
“I lost my confidence, my self-esteem, and belief in my talent. But this competition has reignited something in me — it’s reminded me how important it is to believe in yourself.
“Winning would prove to myself that I can achieve anything, if I believe in it. That would mean the world.”

Homecare’s Got Talent and Carefest is the work of Dan Archer, CEO of Sheffield based award-winning home care provider Visiting Angels, who wanted a heartfelt stage to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and individuality of people working in care across the UK.
He said: “Helen’s story is one of resilience, reflection and rediscovery. Her performance was filled with heart, and we’re thrilled to see her shine again.”
