Magical road back to theatre with new summer pantomime the Wizard of Oz announced at Blackpool North Pier Joe Longthorne Theatre

Bringing some much needed cheer to theatreland and Blackpool’s North Pier this summer, a new pantomime adventure Wizard of Oz.

Producer Tom Rolfe is returning to the venue to present the classic tale, with a twist, to delight audiences of all ages for the summer season.

The production opens on August 1 at the Joe Longthorne Theatre, with two performances every Wednesday through the month at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

“We had a great time presenting Snow White back in 2019 and we can’t wait to spread some much needed cheer this Summer season.’

The pantomime story will see families join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion on a magical adventure to find the Emerald City.

Journey with the brave foursome along the yellow brick road to find out if the scarecrow gets a brain, the tin man gets a heart, the lion gets some courage – and Dorothy finds her way back home.

Tom added: “This fun-packed pantomime twist on the original story is guaranteed to have you cheering Glinda the Good Fairy, booing the evil Wicked Witch of the West and rolling in the aisles with laughter.”
