For some people losing weight is the goal, so when they lose weight it is deemed a success.
However, in the fitness industry success is very individualised. It is not just about losing weight or being fitter – some people enjoy other success.

Hide AdIt is not for us to decide what is successful or what isn’t. It is not for us to say, ‘You didn’t lose any weight, so it can’t have been a success.’
For some people losing 2lbs might be a huge success, but for someone else putting 2lbs on might be a huge success after battling an eating disorder or being poorly.
Someone might deem success as not having a slice of pizza when offered it.
However, someone else might deem it a success to have had that slice of pizza and not felt guilty all week because of it.
