Mikey Moon's health and fitness column: Celebrate every little win

You won’t feel good every day – you are not supposed to.

It’s okay to be human, which means some days are better than others.

Some days you will feel motivated to work out, other days you won’t.

Sometimes, when those bad days hit, the last thing we want to do is work out or even be productive.

In that event, it is much easier just to take a rest day and chill out. However, I always try to focus on how good I will feel after exercising.

The effect exercise has on your brain is incredible – endorphins are released and it is difficult not to feel amazing after you have trained.

So, even on a bad day, I get on with the session and get it done. I do feel loads better for it as well. We have this mindset imprinted on us from social media that, in order to be healthy, we need to lose weight and diet.

There is more to health than the physical side – it is mental as well. You should exercise because of how it makes you feel – looking amazing is a by-product.

It doesn’t have to be a long or intense workout. A 20- minute walk can do wonders for your mind. No matter what happens today, try to make sure you do at least 20 minutes of exercise and see how you feel afterwards.

Do that for a few days and see how good it makes you feel.
