Fleetwood Town's players are more than ready for a rest

Regular starter Jordan Rossiter again featured in the heart of midfield for last weekend’s Highbury draw with MK Dons. Sam Finley and Harrison Biggins were also given the nod, two players who have had to be patient since Grayson took charge.

Consistency has been a strong feature of the Yorkshireman’s reign so far, and although Rossiter has remained a constant, other players have been given their chance of late.

Callum Camps and Dan Batty have most commonly accompanied former Rangers man Rossiter, though Camps dislocated a shoulder at Burton Albion last week.

Biggins’ return from a loan spell at Barrow coincided with Grayson’s arrival and the 25-year-old has played nine times for Town since. Finley has started the last three, scoring in the 5-2 defeat at Burton.

Grayson said of last weekend’s midfield trio: “They really put a shift in and they are good players with good attitudes.

“Harrison Biggins has had to wait for his opportunity but he’s done really well in there. Sam Finley has waited too.

“When you look at the group we’ve got, they all have a really good attitude and are ready for when they come into the first team.

“The shape was good, we nicked things in the right areas and we had a constant threat.”

The season concludes for Grayson’s side with a trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday.
