I have experience to help Fylde fight for promotion says Camps

The 23-year-old midfielder’s season-long loan from Rangers may have been ended by injury in November but the Rossiter remained with the Cod Army for the rest of the campaign, rehabilitating on the Fylde coast.

And the care that the club showed towards him left the former Liverpool youth player wanting to repay the faith.

Rossiter told The Gazette: “It’s been really good so far. In the last few weeks I’ve been back on the grass, getting a feel for the ball again.

“Obviously I’ve also managed to get my contract sorted, so I was delighted to get that over the line and be a Fleetwood player for the season.

“It’s been a really good week. The club has been absolutely first-class with me – from the medical team right through to the nutritionist, the fitness coaches and the footballing staff.

“They’ve stuck by me through the injury and offered me a contract, which I was absolutely over the moon with.

“They’ve been really good to me and really loyal. They could have just sent me back up to Rangers when I suffered the injury. But they opened the door for me and I can’t thank them enough

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and repaying the faith.”

Rossiter is not training with the rest of the squad just yet but has his own training regime as he recovers from the knee ligament injury suffered against Tranmere Rovers.

An ever-present until that point, Rossiter had to watch on as Fleetwood went close to winning promotion.

This time around he’s looking for the squad to go one better. “It’s a brilliant group of lads,” he added. “They’ve helped me through the injury. I’ve done my rehab at Fleetwood, so I’ve been lucky to have good people around me.

“I’ was really enjoying my football but unfortunately my season came to an end. I’m looking forward to getting out there and helping the lads as much as I can.

“They put an unbelievable run together towards the end of the season.

“If it wasn’t for the Covid situation, I think we had every chance of going up automatically because no-one around us was beating us and we were getting the victories.

“Unfortunately it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to but there’s no reason why we can’t be up there again this season.”
