Blackpool paid the price for missed chances, says Terry McPhillips

Speaking after Pool's 1-1 draw, interim Blackpool boss Terry McPhillips revealed he opted not to name Tilt in his squad of 18 as a precaution.

The centre back, who has started in Pool's last three games in the space of eight days, told McPhillips he felt "tight".

After the match, Tilt was later spotted speaking to McPhillips outside the main entrance alongside his agent.

The defender remains a target for Ipswich, who want to seal a loan deal before next Friday's deadline with a view to a permanent transfer in January.

Speaking after Ipswich's 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon, Hurst said: “I’m surprised he hasn’t played, I must say, after he played the last few and kept clean sheets so unless there’s an injury I’m not aware of it seems an odd decision.

“I’m not going to change my mind and think he’s suddenly a bad player or anything, and there’s no secret (we’re interested).

"I don’t like speaking about other players but it’s out there and it’s been discussed numerous times already.”
