LIVE: Northampton Town v Blackpool

Key Events

  • FT: Northampton 0-3 Blackpool
  • Seasiders could confirm place in League One play-offs
  • Cobblers will be relegated unless they win

James Husband is shown a yellow card for a foul by the touchline. That’s now a booking apiece.

Sam Hoskins’ shot from the edge of the box deflects off Jordan Gabriel and loops up towards goal. Chris Maxwell takes no chances and palms it over.

Kenny Dougall rifles a low shot towards the bottom corner, but Jonathan Mitchell somehow flings himself across goal to make the save. It looked to be heading in!

Elliot Embleton gets into a good position down the left and delivers a dangerous cross which Jonathan Mitchell palms into the six-yard box.

No-one is there to take advantage though, otherwise it would have been a simple tap-in.

66 - On a knife edge

There’s going to be an onslaught from the home side at some point, surely?

They’re not really having a go though, not at the moment anyway. Pool are doing well to dominate, but they’re just lacking a second goal.

67 - Another yellow

Northampton’s Ryan Edmondson goes into the book for a late tackle on Kenny Dougall. Home side aren’t particularly happy with that one.

A third chance for Luke Garbutt goes wide as the full-back drags an effort two or three yards wide after being teed up by Elliot Embleton.

75 - GOAL BLACKPOOL!!!!!! (0-2)

Jerry Yates makes it 2-0!!!!

Ellis Simms’ shot bobbles up, causing Jonathan Mitchell to fumble his effort into the path of Yates, who taps home.

The Northampton players were half expecting the linesman’s flag to go up, but it remained down.

Marvin Ekpiteta comes on for his first appearance since February to replace James Husband, who was on a booking.

A big boost for the centre-back, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Nearly a third for Pool, but Jonathan Mitchell makes a great save to deny Ellis Simms.
