LIVE: Northampton Town v Blackpool

Key Events

  • FT: Northampton 0-3 Blackpool
  • Seasiders could confirm place in League One play-offs
  • Cobblers will be relegated unless they win

It looks like the Seasiders will continue with a back three, with James Husband, Jordan Thorniley and Dan Ballard playing in the centre of defence with Luke Garbutt and Ollie Turton either side of them.

Kenny Dougall and Ethan Robson will play in the centre of midfield, with Sullay Kaikai playing slightly ahead of them behind front men Ellis Simms and Jerry Yates.

The Seasiders have plenty of backup on the bench in Jordan Gabriel, Marvin Ekpiteta, the returning Keshi Anderson, Elliot Embleton, Demetri Mitchell and Brad Holmes.

There’s no Kevin Stewart though, despite the midfielder returning from an ankle injury at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night.

Simon Sadler has arrived in the directors’ box, where he’s joined by board member Brett Gerrity, chief executive Ben Mansford and chief commercial officer Brett Linton.

Let’s hope they’re leaving happy come 5pm!

A group of Blackpool fans have made the trip down to Sixfields and will be watching the game from the hill behind the stand behind the goal.

It’ll make a change from watching on iFollow, I guess...

And kick-off is just moments away.

Can the Seasiders pick up another important three points in their quest to finish in the play-offs? Neil Critchley’s side can even confirm a top six place if results elsewhere go their way. We don’t have long to find out, anyway...

Up the mighty Pool!

Elliot Embleton is out on the pitch, despite originally being down to start on the bench.

There’s no Sullay Kaikai either, so it appears there’s been a late change. A recurrence of Tuesday night’s knock for Kaikai, perhaps?

Nathan Shaw is here, so he should come onto the bench.

After both sets of players take the knee, Blackpool’s Kenny Dougall gets us underway.

Come on you Pool!

The Cobblers get in a little too easily down the left as Jordan Thorniley makes a hash of his attempted clearance, but James Husband does well to turn Alex Jones’ cross over the bar and out for a corner.
