Injury problem for Blackpool defender explained after substitution against Lincoln City

Blackpool’s Hayden Coulson suffered an injury blow in the Seasiders’ 1-1 draw with Lincoln City.

Following a collision during the first half, the defender was forced to make way for James Husband after initially attempting to play through the pain.

The points were eventually shared between the two teams at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night, with Tom Hamer’s stoppage time equaliser cancelling out Kyle Joseph’s opener to earn the 10-man Imps at point on the Fylde Coast.

Discussing the injury to Coulson, Seasiders boss Steve Bruce said: “He’s got a bang to the ribs I believe. He was in a lot of pain when he came off, so we’ll see how he is.

“It’s unfortunate, but if you play the amount of games as these lads, you’re going to pick up knocks and injuries.

“We don’t know how severe it is, but we’ll see before the weekend. He’s still in a bit of pain and discomfort, but until we’ve got scans we won’t know the severity of it.

“Hubby came on, and we all know what he’s about, he’s been around for a long time - he was the ideal replacement.”
