A stoppage time goal denied Blackpool their fifth consecutive league win under Steve Bruce in a 1-1 draw with 10-man Lincoln City.

Following a red card for Adam Jackson in the second half, it seemed as if Kyle Joseph’s goal shortly after would prove to be enough for the Seasiders to pick up three points.

Despite their reduced numbers, the Imps remained resilient, and claimed an equaliser in the final moments through substitute Tom Hamer.

The first clear chance of the game came in the 14th minute. A Lee Evans free kick from the right side caught the Imps defence out after the ball was pulled back to Albie Morgan in space on the edge of the box, with the midfielder’s well-hit strike forcing George Wickens into a strong save.

Moments after, Joseph called the Lincoln keeper into action as well, but the striker’s headed attempt proved to be more routine.

Down the other end, a golden opportunity fell the way of Paudie O’Connor - who was unable to steer the ball on target from close-range following a corner routine.

Ahead of the half hour mark, Joseph came close to opening the scoring again for the Seasiders, with another save stopping the 23-year-old’s inventive attempt.

Bruce’s side were hit with a blow in personnel in the 35th minute, losing Hayden Coulson - who was unable to continue after being involved in a collision at an earlier point in the game.

Since taking over at Bloomfield Road last month, the 63-year-old has been hit with a number of injury concerns already, with the fullback being the latest scare.

Just before half time, Blackpool were denied again, as Tendayi Dairkwa was on hand to clear an attempt from Jordan Gabriel in the box after another crucial intervention from Wickens.

During the break, the visitors replaced the booked Conor McGrandles, following a challenge that could’ve earned him a second yellow in the closing minutes of play.

While the 29-year-old escaped another further sanction, it wasn’t the same story for Jackson, who was handed his second booking, and resulting red, heading into the final 20 minutes.

A golden opportunity immediately followed for substitute Ashley Fletcher, but the ex-Watford man was unable to keep his header down in the box.

The 28-year-old quickly made amends, providing a ball into the feet of Joseph for the striker to break the deadlock.

An opportunity did come Lincoln’s way to equalise, but Harry Tyrer was on hand to make a good save to deny Erik Ring.

The Everton loanee was unable to save the Seasiders in stoppage time, with Hamer on hand to salvage a point for the visitors.
