That goal continues Demetri Mitchell’s fine form in pre-season. The 24-year-old has now scored in all three of the club’s friendlies.

Carlisle have a free kick in a dangerous position between the 18-yard box and the touchline, but Pool deal with Callum Guy’s powerful, driven effort.

Pool counter swiftly from Carlisle’s corner. Demetri Mitchell nips in ahead of a Carlisle man virtually on the halfway line, skipping another desperate lunge, to bare down on goal. Coming one-on-one with keeper Lukas Jensen, he slots the ball home confidently.

Great solo goal from the winger.

Callum Guy swings in a couple of crosses from the Carlisle left, the first from a corner, but Pool deal with them well.

Demetri Mitchell goes down clutching his back after being clattered by Lewis Bell. Thankfully he’s up and able to continue.

Carlisle are forced into an early change after Morgan Feeney went down with a knock. Brennan Dickenson is the man to replace him.

Marvin Ekpiteta cuts open the Carlisle defence with a lovely ball out to Callum Connolly over on the right. The full-back opts to take it first-time as he spots Jerry Yates in space in the middle, but he overhits his cross and it bobbles out to safety. Right idea, though.

The game’s entered a bit of a lull here. Carlisle are seeing more of the ball than they were, but they’re not doing a great deal with it and Pool are happy to keep them at arm’s length.

Pool are playing some lovely, intricate football in the crowded central areas of the pitch. Demetri Mitchell in particular has come out from the wing to collect the ball.
