Josh Bowler is allowed the time and space to waltz his way towards the Boro goal. The winger momentarily gets the ball stuck under his feet but he’s still able to get a shot off at goal, but it’s a weak one and Joe Lumley is able to collect.

Martin Payero delivers a dangerous corner into the dangerous area and it takes a flick off a Blackpool man, but it also takes a nick off Sol Bamba and bobbles harmlessly behind.

Sam Morsy tries to lift James Husband off the floor after the Pool defender nurses a knock. Fair to say that doesn’t go down too well with Blackpool’s stand-in captain.

Martin Payero goes into the book for a dive. Blackpool’s Oliver Casey was also cautioned a couple of minutes ago for that foul on the edge of the box.

Boro’s Martin Payero fires just over the Blackpool bar from a 25-yard free-kick.

31 - GOAL BLACKPOOL! (1-0)

Josh Bowler takes the free-kick but it’s a poor one. He goes low and looks to beat the wall, but it’s straight into the Boro defensive line.

That wrongfoots Joe Lumley, allowing Callum Connolly to lash home on the volley. A great finish from the defender - his first for the club!

That’s superb play between Shayne Lavery and Josh Bowler once again. Lavery back heels the ball into the path of Bowler, who nips the ball past his man before being wiped out.

That’s a free-kick for the Seasiders right on the edge of the Boro box. Sonny Carey and Bowler stand over it.

The Boro fans in the East Stand are giving a bit of stick to James Husband as he takes a throw-in in front of them. The left-back played for the Teesside club between 2014 and 2017, but only made three appearances.

Bit harsh!

Boro are currently enjoying their first real spell of sustained pressure, but they’re not doing a great deal with it. Pool holding firm and even forcing them back.

Josh Bowler - Blackpool’s standout performer so far - cuts inside before flashing a left-footed effort just wide. Great effort.
