Blackpool v Hull City - live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 1-0 Hull City
  • New Year’s Day clash to go ahead despite Covid cases in both camps
  • Seasiders desperate to get back to winning ways after gut-wrenching back-to-back defeats

Since when has it become an expectancy that sides should stop the game when a player is down injured? Unless it’s a head injury, of course.

Grant McCann vents at the referee as the Seasiders continue despite Ryan Longman going down.

48 - What a chance!

Great chance for Pool to double their lead.

Josh Bowler slips in the overlapping Dujon Sterling, whose ball into the box ricochets back to Bowler whose shot is well saved by Nathan Baxter.

The ball sits up nicely for Keshi Anderson who scuffs over, but the linesman’s flag was up anyway.

Almost an early opening at the start of the second-half for Gary Madine as he races into the Hull box, but he’s flagged offside.

We’re back underway

Hull’s Greg Docherty gets the second-half underway.

Both sides are unchanged.

Pool look a little jaded and understandably so as this is their third game in seven days. But they’re ahead and that’s all that matters.

Just got to hope they don’t live to regret two or three missed opportunities.

Two minutes have been added on at the end of the half as substitute Tyler Smith skews wide with a good chance for the away side.

Another good chance for Pool goes to waste as Keshi Anderson’s low drive is straight at Nathan Baxter. Probably ought to have done better.

That’s a glorious chance for Keshi Anderson, one that was probably bigger than he anticipated.

The winger latches onto Gary Madine’s clever ball over the top to side-foot wide when he was left in acres of space.

Kenny Dougall curls wide from 25 yards. Keeper probably had it covered anyway.

Dan Grimshaw flies across goal to tip Keane Lewis-Potter’s dipping effort around the post. Another excellent stop.
