Key Events

  • New Year’s Day clash to go ahead despite Covid cases in both camps
  • Seasiders desperate to get back to winning ways after gut-wrenching back-to-back defeats

George Honeyman is now booked for a foul on James Husband.

Jerry Yates replaces Shayne Lavery.

Dujon Sterling whips in a superb cross from the right which no-one really gambles on and attacks.

The right-back has been excellent this half.

Richard Keogh makes a vital headed clearance to deny a threatening ball into the Pool box.

Pool then immediately break through Keshi Anderson, whose ball across the face of goal towards Shayne Lavery is booted out of play by a recovering defender.

Di’shon Bernard is deservedly shown a yellow card for a late and rash challenge on Keshi Anderson, who has been superb once again despite his earlier misses.

Gary Madine heads wide from Keshi Anderson’s left-wing cross. Another decent chance.

Josh Magennis becomes Hull’s second player to limp off with an injury and is replaced by Tom Eaves, who scored Hull’s goal in the reverse fixture.

Shayne Lavery’s drive is well blocked by a Hull defender. The Seasiders are getting into Hull’s final third on a regular basis, they just need to be more clinical when they get there.

Josh Magennis, meanwhile, becomes the third Hull player to go down with a knock.

Following those couple of stoppages, the second-half has yet to really get going.

That will suit Blackpool more than Hull, who haven’t threatened at all this half.
