The seven players Blackpool could be missing for their early six-pointer with Northampton Town
Blackpool take on Northampton Town at Bloomfield Road this weekend.
Blackpool face Northampton Town this Saturday in what is a crucial game for both sides.
It’s probably too early to be talking about six-pointers, but a win for either team could feel that way, as they look to get on a positive run and pull away from the League One relegation zone.
The Seasiders thought they were heading in the right direction last month, before being pulled back down to earth by three consecutive losses at the start of 2026.
Injuries have played their part, with several players set to be absent for this weekend’s meeting with the Cobblers.
Here’s the latest squad news:
Albie Morgan

On Saturday, it was revealed that Albie Morgan had suffered an ankle injury at the end of the recent FA Cup third round tie away to Ipswich Town.
This has come to a fresh blow for Blackpool, with the midfielder now facing four to six weeks on the sidelines.
Andy Lyons

The Seasiders could find themselves short on the right side. First, Danny Imray was recalled from his loan by Crystal Palace last week, and then, Andy Lyons was forced off with a dead leg in the second half of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to Barnsley.
It’s still unclear if this problem could keep the 25-year-old out for an extended period of time, but he had already been struggling with an achilles injury prior to that.
Michael Ihiekwe

Michael Ihiekwe has been battling a toe injury for a while, and was forced to exit early against Lincoln City last month.
Since then, the centre back hasn’t featured, but was given a steroid injection earlier this month - which should allow him to return to training this month.
James Husband

James Husband is currently serving a ban after being sent off on New Year’s Day against Port Vale, with the Seasiders’ attempt to appeal proving to be unsuccessful.
Fraser Horsfall

Fraser Horsfall was ruled out for the foreseeable after picking up a hamstring injury against Port Vale on New Year’s Day.
Hayden Coulson

Hayden Coulson was forced off in the opening exchanges of the Seasiders’ meeting with Wigan at the Brick Community Stadium last month.
It was later confirmed the wing-back had suffered a 3c hamstring tendon injury, and will only be back at the earliest towards the end of next month.
Dale Taylor

On what was his first start since October following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Dale Taylor was forced off after just six minutes against Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day.
The striker has since undergone surgery on a metatarsal injury, and is expected to be out for the foreseeable.
