The Grimsby-born forward, who has been capped seven times by Montenegro's Under-21 side, made 37 appearances for Burton last season, scoring five times.

He previously had a spell with Leeds United before making the move to the Pirelli Stadium.

“It feels amazing to be here at Blackpool Football Club," Sarkic said.

“I spoke to Neil Critchley at length, having met him previously when I was playing in Portugal, and he explained the project that is in place here which really excites me.

"The club has a real plan to grow over the coming years and it’s a real pleasure to be here.

“I feel I can bring a great deal to the side, having spent some of my career in other countries around Europe. Not only that, but I had a really good experience last season with Burton Albion, so I know what to expect from League One.

“I feel confident I can bring a great deal to the side in the final third and am really looking forward to the future here.”

It comes after Blackpool sealed the signature of Leyton Orient defender Marvin Ekpiteta yesterday.

The centre back arrives on a free transfer having turned down the offer of a new deal at Brisbane Road.

The 24-year-old, described as a quick, modern-day defender, has signed a two-year deal with the option to extend by a further 12 months.

Ekpiteta, who has been capped by Nigeria’s Under-20 side as well as England C, came through the youth ranks at Oxford United.

The 6ft 4ins defender had to drop down to non-league to get his chance, playing for the likes of Witham Town, Concord Rangers and East Thurrock United.
