Blackpool transfer latest shared as Ian Evatt reacts to impact of new injuries
Blackpool have signed three players so far this month.
Ian Evatt states there’s no imminent further incomings for Blackpool - but admits the significance of recent injuries will be taken into account.
The Seasiders have added three new players to their ranks so far this month, with Kamarl Grant, Joel Randall and Michael Obafemi all arriving on loan until the end of the season.
Elsewhere, some loanees have gone in the opposite direction and have returned to their parent clubs with other opportunities arising.
Scott Banks was the latest departure earlier this week, with the winger being recalled by St. Pauli before heading straight back out to Barnsley - opening up a spare loan spot at Bloomfield Road.
Blackpool’s recruitment strategy has undergone a change compared to the last two windows, with the club now looking for players to fit into a wing-back system, rather than a 4-4-2 formation.
Following injuries to both captain George Honeyman and loanee Randall in Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat to Stockport County, Evatt was asked whether this would impact the Seasiders’ transfer activity ahead of Monday’s deadline.
“I don’t know because I don’t have the answers to that at the minute,” he responded.
“We’ll take stock of what’s happened tonight and hopefully get pretty clear answers quickly on how significant these injuries are, and obviously have conversations behind-the-scenes and see what happens from there.”
Evatt discusses Blackpool’s use of loan market this month

With the Seasiders utilising the loan market this month, Evatt discussed whether short-term fixes had been the main focus for the club.
“Not necessarily, it all depends on the individual really,” he noted earlier this week.
“We’re at the stage of the season where lots of people have full squads and most of the work comes in the summer.
“For us, it’s about what we need to fix now, and if we feel it’s a long-term solution then I don’t think anyone’s afraid to do that.
“If it’s a short-term fix to get us through to the next window where we know things are going to change and a lot more things will become available to us, then we might go down that route.
“These are conversations we are having all of the time. Obviously you’re limited to five loans, so it’s about making sure when we use those slots it’s about having an impact on the team.”
