'Never had' - Blackpool persistence outlined in attempts to secure deal with Charlton Athletic

Karoy Anderson has returned to Blackpool on a permanent basis.

Blackpool’s persistence in getting Karoy Anderson back to Bloomfield Road has been praised - with the midfielder tipped to be a ‘huge success’ in Tangerine.

The 21-year-old became a popular figure on the Fylde Coast while on loan with the Seasiders in the second half of last season.

During his temporary stint, the Jamaica international made 16 appearances in total, with a goal coming on his debut away to Huddersfield Town.

He truly started to impress towards the end of the campaign, helping Blackpool to League One survival with some integral displays in the centre of the park.

This made Anderson one of the Seasiders’ top targets this summer, with an undisclosed fee agreed with Charlton Athletic to get him back to the Fylde Coast permanently.

Following the announcement of the four-year deal, which includes a 12-month option, the youngster’s agent Neil Crosby took to social media to react to the transfer.

“Huge congratulations on your permanent move to Blackpool,” he wrote.

“I’ve never had a loan club so persistent to turn a loan into a permanent. It just goes to show you’re not only a top young player, but a top person around the building. I know you’re going to be a huge success in front of fans who already love you.”

Anderson has also taken to Instagram in the last 24 hours to reflect on the move.

“Back by the seaside,” he posted.

“Looking forward to seeing you all at Bloomfield, excited to make this my new home.”
