The centre back, who was unattached following his release from Wigan Athletic, has signed a contract until the end of the season.

Because he was a free agent, today’s 5pm transfer deadline didn’t play as clubs are still able to make free transfers and loan deals until the end of the month.

The 24-year-old spent time on loan with the Seasiders back in 2014, making 19 appearances and scoring one goal during their final season in the Championship.

Daniels said: "I'd spoken to the club and the previous manager over the summer with the possibility of coming back and it's something I'd really contemplated.

"I'm happy to now make it happen and finalise it.

"I'm really excited to get my boots back on, get out there and build up a number of games and continue to progress with this club."

Daniels has also appeared for West Brom, Tranmere Rovers, Gillingham and Aberdeen.

He also played against Blackpool while on loan at Rochdale last season.

The defender, who becomes Pool's 13th signing of the summer, will take the number two shirt.
