'Never expect' - Blackpool boss not allowing complacency ahead of Bromley test
Blackpool take on Bromley at Bloomfield Road this weekend.
Blackpool boss Ian Evatt states he won’t let his side underestimate Bromley on Saturday afternoon.
On the back of their promotion from League Two, The Ravens have started life in the third tier with four points from their opening five games.
A win away to Barnsley and a draw against Cambridge United came in their first two outings, with three consecutive defeats coming since then.
The nature of those results have been particularly challenging Andy Woodman’s side - who have conceded 15 goals in total so far this term.
A 7-2 loss away to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough was swiftly followed by a 5-0 defeat to Leyton Orient at Hayes Lane.
Meanwhile, their previous outing ended in a 2-0 victory for Wimbledon on Monday night.
Despite Bromley’s current struggles, Evatt insists the Seasiders will remain focused on the task in hand as they look to bounce back from recent defeats away to Barnsley and Reading.
“My job is to make sure that psychologically we’re in the right space to be able to attack the game in the right manner,” he said.
“If anything, we’ve learnt since I’ve been here, is not to take anything for granted. The minute you start to expect anything in football or feel entitled, things go wrong pretty quickly.
“It’s about the process for me. What’s our process, what makes us a good team, what things are we doing at our absolute best?
“You should never expect to turn up and win; you have to earn every single thing, every single point and every single duel in this game. I’ll make sure our players understand that.”
