Ex-Aston Villa and Coventry City figure pinpoints what players should expect playing away to Ian Evatt's Blackpool
Dion Dublin shares his thoughts on Blackpool boss Ian Evatt and what it’s like to play at Bloomfield Road.
TV pundit Dion Dublin believes Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road will be a tough place for any team to visit heading into the winter months.
The Seasiders will be looking to make their home a fortress this season as they look to better some of their recent League One finishes.
They are unbeaten in the third tier on their own patch so far this term, winning one and drawing two.
While there’s still improvements to be made, there’s a base there to build one month into the campaign.
Dublin, who played for the likes of Aston Villa and Coventry City during his playing career, believes the influence of Blackpool boss Ian Evatt will make Bloomfield Road an even harder place to visit for away teams.
The former Cambridge United figure admits he’s had tough times against both the Seasiders head coach and on the Fylde Coast.

“I played against Ian Evatt and he’s a bit of a legend at that level,” he told Reviant.
“From my games against him I can tell you he didn’t mind kicking people. He was a big centre-half who gave me a few scars back in the day, and a few elbows in the back of my head too.
“I think he’s done well, and he did well for a spell with Bolton Wanderers for a while too, so he’s been around that level for a long time, and he played centre-half for Blackpool, so he’s the sort of manager that the owners there can put in and leave him alone to get on with it.
“He’ll get on with the job, he has the experience and Blackpool can be a cold place to go and play, let me tell you.
“Every team that turns up to play them this season will be coming off the coach begging the kit man for the long sleeve shirts that day.”
