AFC Fylde fell to their first defeat of the season at Woking, with the home side coming from behind to win the game 3-2.

Two late stoppage-time goals from the Cardinals rounded off an even but entertaining game in front of 2088 at the Laithwaite Community Stadium with the Coasters twice taking the lead.

The hosts had the better of the first 20 minutes but it was Cedric Main who had the first real opportunity of the match, coming agonisingly close to connecting with a superb low cross from Danny Ormerod.

Just a few minutes later, AFC Fylde broke the deadlock with Ormerod heading home from close range after great work on the right-hand side from Aaron Drewe.

Woking started the second half on the front foot, and a long throw from Ogie resulted in a handball appeal in the penalty area, which was quickly dismissed by referee Adam Merchant.

On 49 minutes, the Coasters’ lead was very nearly doubled as Main took advantage of a mistake amongst the Woking back-line, however, his low shot crept just past the right- hand post.

With Fylde settling into the second half and enjoying plenty of possession, the home side made a triple substitution on 58 minutes, introducing Forster-Caskey, Putman and the influential Liam Dulson.

Shortly afterwards, Matt Ward pounced on a loose ball and produced a composed finish to send the ball beyond Zac Jones to level the score for Woking.

Craig Mahon responded quickly by bringing on Harry Broad, and within minutes the left back found himself free in the opposition box, slotting home a neat finish after determined work from debutant Greg Olley to win the ball back just outside the penalty box.

The Coasters, however, were unable to hold onto their lead and with pressure building from the home side, two late stoppage time goals from Syla and Harris gave all three points to the Cardinals.
