AFC Fylde boss says all his players will have a crucial role for the Coasters this season

AFC Fylde look for victory number four of the season this weekend.

Craig Mahon says AFC Fylde’s squad will have a crucial collective part to play as they look to build on an impressive start to their National League season.

The Coasters are back in action on Saturday, when they welcome Worthing FC to Mill Farm.

They do so, having won three of their first five matches back in non-league’s top division.

Victory number three came on Monday at Solihull Moors, where first-half substitutes Jack Morris and Luca Thomas both scored in Fylde’s 3-1 win.

“That’s the big thing for me,” said Mahon who also handed a late appearance off the bench to academy graduate Ben Jackson.

“I always say that if we’re going to do something this year, the subs and the squad are going to be the ones who get us over the line or who gets us to where we want to be.

“From when the lads came on, the standard stayed at its highest point and they came on and created numerous chances; Jack Morris getting his goal, getting an assist, Luca getting a goal.

“Young Ben came on at the end, which was brilliant as well, to give him his league debut this year but we’ve got a few walking wounded.

“The lads will have a couple of days’ rest now to recover and our mindset now is straight on to Worthing on Saturday.”

While Fylde sit sixth in the early league table, Worthing make the journey north after three defeats in four which leave them in 15th position.
