World of Water looks to dispose of Lancashire site - your chance to buy aquatic, camping, garden store
Gardening and aquatic specialist World of Water is looking to off-load its Lancashire branch.
Its premises in Preston New Road, near Kirkham, have been listed for sale, for an undisclosed price, with agent Quintons suggesting huge potential in the site.
In marketing material they state: “We believe that based on the size of the site and the heated and unheated retail buildings, the turnover could be in the region of £2 million, with a commensurate increase in profit.”
The established branch is situated on a former garden centre site of over nine acres and as well as acquatic equipment, sells fishing camping equipment, pets, birds, reptiles and garden furniture.
The agent adds: “The site benefits from full planning consent for a garden centre, so there is scope to completely widen the range of products being sold, and there is scope to refurbish the three additional glasshouses and to either open a garden centre and/or bring on further concessions.
Restaurant
“The restaurant on site, which is currently rented out, is very successful and could be enlarged, subject to the necessary planning consents, with the potential to bring this in house in the future if required.”
The reason for sale has not been given publicly.
