Two teenagers were seriously injured in a motorbike crash in Blackpool on Monday (February 20).

Emergency services were called to the scene in Caunce Street, near the junction with Devonshire Road, at 8.11pm.

The young rider and his pillion passenger suffered serious injuries after the bike collided with a car, whose driver was uninjured.

Police closed the road while paramedics worked at the scene and both boys were taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

Lancashire Police has confirmed the exact ages of the boys and North West Ambulance Service declined to comment on their current condition.

"All we can say is that they both suffered serious injuries,” said an ambulance spokesman.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police added: “We were called at 8.11pm yesterday (February 20) to a report of a road traffic collision on Caunce Street, Blackpool.

"A car and a motorbike were in collision. Two teenagers on the motorbike were taken to hospital for treatment.”
