The date organised by Silverwood Events is to promote his new book Taking The Lead, which has been providing controversial and has recently had extensive excerpts featured in a Sunday newspaper.
In the book, Pernice has vented his fury at the BBC over its handling of the clash with actress Amanda Abbington in 2023 which led to his exit from Strictly.

Abbington accused Pernice of inappropriate bullying behaviour during her five weeks on the TV show and the BBC’s subsequent investigation partially upheld some of her concerns, with the corporation apologising to Abbington for her experience.
Pernice has said of the BBC’s response that he didn’t feel he was looked after and goes into much detail in the book, including his subsequent depression.
