Beloved and historic St Annes pier dating back to 1885 named in UK's top 20 by TripAdvisor
A Fylde Coast pier has been celebrated as one of Britain’s best following recent reviews and comments on global travel website TripAdvisor.
St Annes Pier has been named as the 19th best pier in the UK based on thousands of reviews on TripAdvisor.
New reviews on the travel website hail the Fylde tourist destination as one of the finest piers in the country, with visitors hailing the attraction’s arcade, food outlets and surrounding beaches.
The Grade II listed tourist attraction was first opened in 1885 by Lord Stanley after being constructed for an original cost of £18,000.

At its peak in the early 1970s St Annes Pier was visited by an estimated 350,000 people each year. Sadly, two fires in 1974 and 1982 led to 120 feet of the pier being demolished in 1984 due to a lack of funding for repair works.
The pier today boasts an amusement arcade, cafés, shops and children's attractions, making it one of Lancashire’s best-loved family destinations.
