St Anne’s Carnival organisers are appealing for parade marshals to volunteer on the day as they prepare for one of the town’s biggest annual community events.
Organisers of St Anne’s Carnival are calling on residents to come forward and support this year’s parade by volunteering as marshals, as preparations continue ahead of the summer event.

The carnival, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, is a highlight in the local calendar, attracting families and visitors to the town centre for a morning of entertainment, music and community celebration.
However, organisers say they rely heavily on volunteers to help ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.
Parade marshals play an essential role on the day, assisting along the route, helping to guide crowds, supporting participants and acting as a visible and friendly presence throughout the morning.
Organisers stress that no previous experience is required, and full guidance and a safety briefing will be provided ahead of the event. Hi-vis jackets will also be supplied.
Volunteers are being asked to give just a few hours of their time, from 8.30am to 12.00pm, to help support the running of the parade.
Organisers say even a small number of additional helpers could make a significant difference to ensuring the carnival goes ahead safely.
